Wookood Petroleum, represented by its chairman Mr Georges Saade & CFO Mr Rony Daou, participated in the 2nd “Gas Station Build Middle East” Conference, which was held on the 9th and 10th of January, in Abu Dhabi, capital of the UAE.
Multiple discussion panels were held during both days of the conference, where high executives and managing directors had their say about the future and possible developments in the industry.
Our CFO Mr Daou moderated the 6th session of discussions on day 1, which was an Executive CEO Panel, titled “Vision 2020 for GCC’s Fuel Retail Industry”.
Mr Daou discussed with the honorable gentlemen Mr David Kalife, CFO of Oman Oil Marketing Company, Mr Khalid E. Sabbagh GM, special projects of Bapco Bahrain and Mr Yousuf Harib, ENOC operation director, the main aspects of the region’s future vision when it comes to the fuel retail industry. The speakers also shared their vision about how the market will change and what are the future opportunities and the possible ways that may help key players to capitalize on them.
Our CFO also gave a presentation on Wookood’s history and tackled various issues, starting by how to enhance the customer experience using state of the art software solutions and generating foot traffic report, site monitoring and alarm using software technology. He also talked about various ways of using software to identify the best retail shops in any given station according to its location, demographics and other external factors.
Both Mr Saade and Mr Daou also held various fruitful meetings with their peers and counterparts responsable of other prominent players of the industry.
